It is with great pride that the Lovell Hockey Organization and the 95 Giants Club take a moment to recognize former (2000) U18 Goalie Michel-Jose (MJ) Rocheleau on his enlistment into the United States Air Force and departure today, June 9, 2020 for boot camp and advance training.
MJ was a member of the inaugural season of the GIANTS and went on to play three seasons as a net minder before taking a Lacrosse Scholarship at New England College as a Criminal Justice major. Unfortunately freshmen year MJ broke his ankle in the first practice of the year, on no other than ice on the turf. MJ maintained his eligibility and looked to sophomore year to come back. However, during 1st semester MJ felt the need to answer the call to service and made the decision during the fall term to join the Rhode Island Air National Guard as a member of the 143rd Security Forces Squadron. Today, MJ embarked on that journey to fulfill his basic and advance training. Upon his return, he will be attending URI to continue his Criminal Justice studies with the goal to enter in to the FBI, DEA or State Police agency upon completing his studies.
MJ was one of the best kids I’ve ever got to Coach, he was a hard worker and always thought about his teammates before himself. Watching MJ grow as an adult has been amazing and to this day we have a great relationship. I want to wish MJ the best of luck going forward and wouldn’t want anyone else protecting our freedoms besides him.
